POC Opto-Tech Pte Ltd is a Singapore-based leader in precision optics and photonics engineering. We specialize in high-quality optical components and innovative technical solutions serving global clients in imaging, sensing, infrared systems, and advanced photonics applications.
As our business continues to expand, we are seeking a Full-Time Opto-Mechanical Engineer to support product development, strengthen customer engineering support, and contribute to our long-term growth. You will play a key role in designing, developing, and integrating opto-mechanical systems, collaborating across disciplines to deliver high-performance solutions for customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize opto-mechanical systems and assemblies that meet performance, cost, and schedule requirements.
- Prepare and review detailed fabrication, assembly, and layout drawings using CAD tools.
- Lead prototype assembly, testing, validation, and troubleshooting activities.
- Define and prepare technical specifications while ensuring compliance with engineering standards.
- Manage project deliverables including schedule planning, technical documentation, and issue resolution.
- Collaborate closely with optics, electronics, laser, software, and production teams for system integration.
- Provide technical support for proposals, customer discussions, and application requirements.
- Continuously improve design guidelines, workflows, and engineering SOPs.
- Perform other engineering tasks as required to support product and business objectives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Physics, Optics, or a related field.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in mechanical or opto-mechanical design (optical or automation equipment experience preferred).
- Strong foundation in high-precision mechanical design including thermal, stability, and vibration considerations.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software, preferably SolidWorks.
- Familiarity with optical alignment methods and opto-mechanical interfaces.
- Hands-on experience with optical assembly and integration is a strong advantage.
- Good communication skills; proficiency in English and Mandarin is preferred for technical and supplier communication.
- Willingness to travel overseas for short technical assignments.
- Strong teamwork, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail in documentation.
Nice to Have
- Experience in laser systems, infrared optics, or photonics devices.
- Exposure to automation or precision machine design.
